The first day of training course “Project Cycle Management” for the needs of the staff of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia was held on Monday 15 May 2017. The event was opened by Assistant of Minister for Defense Mr. Milan Mojsilović and Head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia Mr. Andrea Oricio, and after that Mr. Ratko Bojovic, director of the training academy what, gave an introductory lecture on the EU funding opportunities.

Mr. Mojsilović stressed that the course “Project Cycle Management” is part of the OSCE’s support to strengthening the necessary skills of the defense system in the field of project management. Mr. Oricio said that the Ministry of Defense is one of the key actors in the reform process and expressed his satisfaction that that the OSCE provides great support. It is my pleasure to be here because the organization of the course is a product of joint work and we will continue and strengthen our cooperation. Your success is our success, said Oricio.

Ratko Bojovic presented to the participants (including representatives of the Military Medical Academy, the University of Defense …) main logic of EU funds, number of EU programmes available to public institutions and the Ministry of Defense in Serbia such as IPA, Horizon 2020 Health, Erasmus plus and others and explained what are the next steps and key challenges in the project proposal development.

The five-day training course on “Project Cycle Management” organized in cooperation of the Directorate for European Integration and Project Management of Ministry of Defense and the OSCE Mission to Serbia and for us in EUTA it what was a great pleasure to contribute to the success of the training and capacity building of the Ministry of Defense to attract grants from EU funds.
