Budget of € 449.4 million
Aims to encourage innovation in healthcare and increase the sustainability of health systems, to improve the health of the EU citizens and protect them from cross-border health threats.
Main objectives: promote health, prevent diseases and foster supportive environments for healthy lifestyles taking into account the ‘health in all policies’ principle; protect citizens from serious cross-border health threats; contribute to innovative, efficient and sustainable health systems; facilitate access to better and safer healthcare.
In most cases, the grants will contribute 60% of the costs of the action/project. This figure rises to 80% in exceptional cases, such as for Member States with a low Gross National Income participating in joint actions.
