On Saturday, May 6, we finished the first two-day training for the management and administration of EU projects with a focus on Horizon 2020. Our colleagues, Prof. Goran Stojanović and Marija Spasić Šola, who have implemented a large number of EU projects (Horizon 2020, FP7, Erasmus plus, Tempus, Eureka, IPA…) shared their experiences with participants from Energoprojekt, Institute for Agriculture and Vegetables, Flight Control SCG, European Affairs Fund APV, the Republic Secretariat for Public Policies… and pointed out to them the main challenges and ways to overcome possible problems during project implementation.

As a financial project manager at the ETF in Belgrade, Marija led the participants through the entire financial audit process, so the participants could see how official auditors think and what they expect, and learn to assess the correctness/justification of various financial documents, accounts and expenses themselves.

Goran, who managed international projects as a coordinator, but also led his team from FTN in Novi Sad in the role of a partner, trained the participants in the skills of how to effectively manage EU projects and their teams, distribute activities and resources, communicate with partners, control implementation of activities and results, write technical and financial reports in order to justify the maximum amount of approved financial resources and achieve the planned goals of the project.

During the two-day workshop, we went through all the steps in project implementation, from the signing of the Contract to the financial audit of the project. There were 9 participants who evaluated the training as extremely useful, and it was a great pleasure for us to help our participants, in order to improve the quality of the results during and after the implementation of their projects.
